Mission

To create a community nurturing and encouraging film culture and appreciation while promoting student film productions.

Background:

nuSTUDIOS Film Productions, a member of NUS Centre For the Arts (CFA), is a student film production house specializing in short films. nuSTUDIOS is under the guidance of established film-maker Lee Thean-jeen and aims to promote a culture of film-making and film appreciation within the NUS community and beyond.

Since its inception in 2000, nuSTUDIOS has produced over 22 short films, with our finest participating in both local and international film festivals. These include the Singapore Shorts Film Festival, the 2004 Bangkok International Film Festival, the Tel Aviv 9th International Student Film Festival in Israel and the 2007 30th Asian American International Film Festival.

In line with our vision to nurture film appreciation, nuSTUDIOS actively seeks out platforms for outreach. This includes our internal training programme, film-making workshops and clinics, as well as external collaborations with The Substation and library@esplanade

With more productions and film outreach programmes in the pipeline, nuSTUDIOS is committed to our vision of working towards achieving a sustained presence within and beyond NUS.
